3DX Ireland is a 3D Heli competition which follows the same format as the http://www.3dx.eu.com/. The Purpose is to give 3D pilots a base on which to compete and an incentive to improve their 3D flying skill.

Competitors will be initially asked to fly 5 Set Manoeuvres from a list of 30 produced each year (See: Set Manoeuvres). Each set manoeuvre is weighted with a k factor which is derived from the amount of skill required to perform the manoeuvre.

The flyer will then be asked to fly in a 3 minute freestyle sequence in which the flyer can then show off there unique flying style capability from the tricks and manoeuvres they have learnt to date.

3DX Ireland 2007 was held in Portadown, N.Ireland and was held a big success. John O'Rourke earned a well deserved win but had to work for it against his fellow competitors namely William Gaule and Alwyn Clarke who finished 2 nd and 3 rd respectively. Thanks to all who travelled and to the 3DX commitee for 2007 ( David Nolan, Robin Black & P.J. Harte).

Thanks also to Ducan Osborne and of course the Fastlad crew for travelling over from the UK to the event.
